Opening Statement: “First off, I thought we fought hard did a lot of good things. Won the turnover battle and that was significant. Then when Taysom went down Trevor did a good job filling in all the things you want to do to win a game. Obviously, the other game didn’t go the way we wanted. I’m proud of this group, I thought we fought hard all season.”
On his emotions after winning today’s game but not making the playoffs: “It is what it is. You’re disappointed. Obviously, as a team, we’re watching the finish of the game. You’re disappointed. You play to get in the postseason and our players the same way, feel the same way.”
On an update of QB Taysom Hill after being injured in the first half: “No, we’ll have more once we do a little bit further evaluation tomorrow. Hurt his Lisfranc. We just don’t know to what degree, but we’ll have that get passed along to you guys as soon as we get a little bit further in his examination.” Read more here.

Atlanta – The New Orleans Saints didn’t qualify for the 2021 playoffs. But the bow they placed on the first 17-game regular season in NFL history – a 30-20 victory over the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium – was an impressive one as they finished 9-8, and skirted with a postseason berth until the very end.
In earning a series split with Atlanta (7-10), New Orleans claimed second place in the NFC South Division with one of their most thorough victories of the season.
Just like we all thought, the New Orleans Saints’ return to the Caesars Superdome would result in an overtime loss to the previously winless New York Giants.
Saquon Barkley’s touchdown run in overtime made the Saints a loser in a game that was supposed to represent a celebration upon returning home. New Orleans never could put the Giants away and lost its grip on the game late.

At the request of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, the NFL and the New Orleans Saints announced Friday, Aug. 27 that due to the impending impact of Hurricane Ida on the Gulf Coast region that the team’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals has been canceled. The game, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 28 was moved to noon at the Caesars Superdome. Due to the intensification of the hurricane throughout the day and after the most recent tropical update, the team’s leadership has made the decision in the best interests of all personnel that may have been directly and indirectly affected by the storm. The announcement comes after constant communications with City of New Orleans officials, the National Weather Service, Homeland Security, Gov. Edwards and leading state officials and the National Football League. The team encourages all residents of the region to take precautionary measures to remain safe throughout the impending hurricane.
