Really ……

Saints react to NFL admitting botched call vs. Texans: ‘That’s a game-changer. That can’t happen.’

Al Riveron was left to clean up another officiating snafu at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Monday night. This time, at least, it didn’t cost the Saints a game – or a trip to the Super Bowl.

Drew Brees was furious. Sean Payton was rather calm. And Cam Jordan waxed philosophical, after the officials in Monday night’s 30-28 Saints victory over the Texans saw yet another half end with fans, media members and Saints coaches and players confused about what appeared, at least on the surface, to be a fairly simple call to make when broken down.

Saints break Week 1 curse with last-second 58-yard field goal

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints finally broke their Week 1 curse in the most improbable fashion imaginable: A 58-yard field goal by Wil Lutz as time expired for a 30-28 victory over the Houston Texans — just 37 seconds after they had lost the lead by allowing a two-play, 75-yard touchdown drive.

It was the longest field goal in the final 10 seconds of a season opener since the NFL/AFL merger, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. So that’s all it took?!

Saints vs Houston

The Saints ruled out defensive tackles Sheldon Rankins (Achilles) and Mario Edwards Jr. (hamstring) for Monday night’s game against the Texans. LB Craig Robertson (hamstring) is listed as questionable. Everyone else is good to go. It will be interesting to see how the Saints handle their three-technique DT position since Rankins is the starter, backup David Onyemata is serving a one-game suspension and Edwards is the third-stringer. Backup tackles Taylor Stallworth and Shy Tuttle should be part of the solution. Backup DE Trey Hendrickson is another possibility.

Drew..Hopefully this sets the record straight with who I am and what I stand for.

Hopefully this sets the record straight with who I am and what I stand for. Love, Respect, and Accept ALL. I encourage you not to believe the negativity you read that says differently. It’s simply not true. Have a great day.

This is it: Why anything less than a Saints Super Bowl trip will be considered a disappointment

Tom Benson stood on the stage that Sunday evening at what was then Sun Life Stadium in Miami, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in the air.

It was the most triumphant day in New Orleans sports history, well worthy of the “Hallelujah!” and “Amen!” headlines that graced the front pages of the local newspapers the next day.
