The New Orleans Saints will impose no ticket increase on 98 percent of the season ticket holders in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the 2012 season, a club source said late Tuesday. However, for a sliver of fans in an upper corner, an increase could be in the cards.

The New Orleans Saints brought free agent linebacker Lofa Tatupu to town for a visit Tuesday, according to a league source. The visit was first reported by NFL Network.
Tatupu sat out the 2011 season after requesting and receiving his release from the Seattle Seahawks. There were reports – never confirmed by him – that he suffered a knee injury and possibly underwent surgery on both knees and that the lingering effect of that kept him off the field last year. Previously, he missed 11 games in 2009 with a torn pectoral muscle.

With the season now in the rearview mirror – though some would say not far enough behind with wounds still open – we believe at WWLTV.com it’s time to hit on our yearly “roster check,” our assessment of who should be or should not be with the club come training camp in July.
We don’t think this will help close the wound that the playoff game opened. It might, in fact, open it more and for that we apologize.
For the next few work week days, we’ll go position group by position group (secondary, linebackers, defensive line, offensive line, receivers and specialists, running backs, tight ends and quarterbacks) and give our opinions on the players and situations.
Running backs, Tight ends and Quarterbacks
Running backs: Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory, Jed Collins
Tight Ends: Jimmy Graham, David Thomas, John Gilmore, Tory Humphrey, Michael Higgins
Quarterbacks: Drew Brees, Chase Danie

Tulane Wednesday Feb. 8 @ 6pm
Jane wasn’t a sports fan growing up, but interviewing professional athletes makes me appreciate their journey and what we can learn from them – including giving back
One of the things she emphasizes in her book is the importance of recognizing and exploring the Good Sports Story… not to glaze over hard times/issues etc., but to get to know athletes as people and what drives them and why, especially the good guys. Drew is a great example of how he has stayed true to himself, and I think having known him early, and to be able to share what he said him from the early part of his career, offers a different dimension.
So if you are around Tulane today stop and meet Jane and see what she has to say.. she is a fan of the Who Dat Nation
Perpetuate the Positive…
Be Part of “the Good Sports Story”

Jimmy Graham, who had a remarkable personal odyssey from foster homes to NFL stardom, will be a part of a USA Network special this Friday evening. The show, to air at 6 p.m., features Graham mentoring a teenager in trouble.
The teenager in question is Ashton Randall, 14, of New Orleans. Randall’s father was murdered and his mother lost custody of him due to drug addiction, according to the network. He is thus about to enter a Boy’s Town foster home and Graham is with him to offer support

The New Orleans Saints are headed into an offseason in which they will have to try to bring back Drew Brees, Carl Nicks and Marques Colston, among other key free agents.
The Saints already do not have a lot of cap space, and that’s why we could see defensive end Will Smith leave the team in 2012.
The Saints brought in Steve Spagnuolo as the new defensive coordinator, and it’s likely that he will improve the defense in New Orleans greatly. In fact, I think that he could even do it without the Saints’ best defensive end.
Smith was chosen by the Saints in the first round of the 2004 NFL draft, and he has been a great player for New Orleans over the years.
His best season came in 2009, when the Saints won the Super Bowl. Smith tallied up 13 sacks that year and was among the top pass-rushers in the league.

Drew Brees is in Indianapolis, where Super Bowl XLVI will be played Sunday. Next year, the Super Bowl will be played at the Superdome.
“We expect to be there,” Brees told the NFL Network. “I would love nothing more than to be able to bring that to our fans… a home team playing in a New Orleans Super Bowl.”
No team has ever played on a Super Bowl in its own stadium.
