The New Orleans Saints announced today that restricted free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove has signed the qualifying offer the club had tendered to him and will return to New Orleans for the 2010 season.

I’m curious just how hard they even tried to ‘obtain financial fruits’ with this saying….until the controversy with NFL and the 2 stores (only one of which I remember the name), nobody had heard of this tool…..
These guys are sheisters to the max. I was at a lawyers CLE where we discussed the who dat trademark controversy and these guys tried to hijack the conference by claiming they were the true owners of who dat because they took the chant and put it in a song. Everybody was extremely put off and brought up the fact that these douches never once have tried to enforce their mark until now. F-off D-bags.
Since helping the New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl XLIV, Pierre Thomas has enjoyed the spoils of victory — and rightfully so.
He participated in a victory parade through downtown New Orleans that drew an estimated 800,000 fans, attended the NBA All-Star festivities in Dallas, and visited the bright lights of New York City, Las Vegas and Hollywood.
But to Thomas, there’s no place like home.
That’s where he was headed Friday, finally, to visit family and friends for the first time since the Super Bowl. To top it off, he’ll throw out the ceremonial first pitch for a Chicago White Sox game Thursday night in U.S. Cellular Field.
“I can’t wait to do that,” Thomas said Thursday night, flashing his infectious smile. “I have to get my arm warmed up.”
Super Bowl champion Will Smith, the former Thomas R. Proctor High School star from Utica who helped the New Orleans Saints make history with their 31-17 victory over the favored Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, returns today for his nonprofit’s organization’s second annual “Evening of All-Stars.”
Smith, a six-year NFL veteran at defensive end and one of the Saints’ captains, and his “Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way” foundation will be honoring the Observer-Dispatch’s All-Mohawk Valley Football Team during tonight’s dinner at Daniele’s Banquet Facility in New Hartford.
Doug Marrone, the head coach of Syracuse University’s football team and a former Saints assistant, and former Proctor and University of Pittsburgh lineman Penny Semaia will be the guest speakers.
This will be Smith’s first appearance here since the former first-round draft choice helped New Orleans capture its first Super Bowl title Feb. 7 in Miami. Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente also has proclaimed today as “Will Smith Day” in Oneida County.
Question: How has your life changed since winning the Super Bowl?
Naturally Chef Who Dat, who hands out his satirical fliers directed at the day’s opponent before each game to his fellow seatmates in Section 641, wanted to be in that number when the Saints unfurl that flag. But now it appears the kind of emphasis on excellence that helped land that once unthinkable banner will leave Chef Who Dat’s alter ego, Xavier professor Ross Louis, and possibly 1,199 of his closest pals on the outside looking in this fall.
Utica native Will Smith, a member of the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, was honored Thursday by Oneida County.
“Will Smith of Utica has shown greatness as an outstanding football player with the world champion New Orleans Saints of the NFL, building on a career that began here in Oneida County during his days at Utica’s Proctor High School,” Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. said in a proclamation naming Saturday as “Will Smith Day” in Oneida County.
Smith is in town this weekend for the “Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way” Foundation’s second annual Evening of All-Stars dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at Danielle’s Banquet Specialists on Seneca Turnpike.
Running back Jamal Lewis, who was released by Cleveland in February, visited with the Saints this week, according to team officials. It does not appear the New Orleans Saints have made any formal offer to him.
