Here are some of the highlights from former New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant’s interview with SIRIUS NFL Radio this morning, courtesy of the radio network. Grant spoke with hosts Adam Schein and Ross Tucker.

Charles Grant: “I thought I would retire in New Orleans. To my fans in New Orleans, I love you. I love New Orleans because, first of all, New Orleans gave my NFL career a start. They made me financially stable to take care of my family and my kids. Before I was able to leave I got a Super Bowl ring in New Orleans. No better place to get one than in New Orleans. But I’m a true believer when one door closes another door [opens]. I’ve got a good five more years in me to be productive. New Orleans, I love you. I thank you, Mr. Benson and Mickey [Loomis], for everything you’ve done for me and if we ever cross paths you know I would love to go back to New Orleans and be a New Orleans Saint. But if it don’t happen, then I gotta go somewhere else. If another team gets me they will be really shocked because we’re gonna put that work in to do what it takes to be successful.”

Host/Adam Schein: “Are there conversations about going back to New Orleans right now? Have other teams called? Are they waiting to see how your health is ultimately going to be by training camp? What’s the current situation for you?”
