First (take) …

If you asked fans to name the most improved player on the Saints roster this season receivers Robert Meachem and Devery Henderson might rank Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Both are enjoying the best seasons of their careers, as noted in an excellent feature story by Times-Picayune colleague Nakia Hogan.

Meachem, in fact, is having a breakout year in his third NFL season. He leads the league in yards per catch with an 18.8 average. His eight touchdowns are tied with Marques Colston for the team high. Most important, he hasn’t dropped a pass in 39 attempts thrown his way.
